Mark Schwarzlaender, University of Idaho
Dr. Mark Schwarzlaender received a MS and PhD in Biology from the University of Kiel in Germany. Mark is a Professor at the University of Idaho in Plant, Soil, and Entomological Sciences. Mark conducts research on biological control of weeds, insect-plant interactions, quantitative impact of specialist herbivore insect species on individual host plant and host plant population level, combined influence of insect herbivore and plant competition on weeds as part of integrated weed management strategies, and non-target effects of biological control agents. Areas of expertise include host-specificity evaluation and bionomics of herbivore insects, and foreign exploration for biological control agents for weeds.

Amy Ferriter is the Territory Manager for the Inland Northwest region at Crop Production Services Timberland Division based out of Boise, ID. Previous gigs include the Invasive Species Coordinator for the State of Idaho (2006-2013) and Senior Environmental Scientist with the South Florida Water Management District (1992-2005). She holds a Master's degree in GIS/Remote Sensing from Florida Atlantic University, and is pursuing a PhD in Environmental Public Policy at Boise State University.

Tom Woolf received a Bachelor’s degree in Biology from Adams State College, Colorado and a Master’s of Science degree in Environmental Science from Minnesota State University focusing on invasive species impacts in aquatic ecosystems. Thomas worked for the Idaho State Department of Agriculture from 2007 to 2017 as the Aquatic Invasive Species Program Manager for the state of Idaho and supported the development and operation of Idaho’s invasive species survey and prevention programs. He currently is the Aquatic Invasive Species Bureau Chief for Montana Fish Wildlife and Parks.

Nancy Pieropan, Fremont County Weed & Pest, WY
Nancy Pieropan grew up in rural Western Massachusetts. She earned a Bachelors degree in Plant and Soil Science from the University of Massachusetts in 1980 then moved to Lander, Wyoming later that year. Nancy was the City of Lander Weed & Pest Control Supervisor from 1981 to 1990. During the 1990’s she owned and operated a successful child care facility in downtown Lander. Since 1999 she has been employed by Fremont County Weed and Pest Control District as an assistant supervisor. Nancy served on the Lander City Council from 2001 through 2014 and as Council President the last four years. She has also served on the Boards of both the Lander Chamber of Commerce and the Fremont County Weed and Pest Control District. During those terms she had the opportunity to be the Chamber President and the Weed & Pest Board Chairperson. Nancy is a past President of the Wyoming Mosquito Management Association and Secretary of the Wyoming Weed & Pest Council.
